Clinical Training Center

The CTC is not only a hub for the ideas of the training program, but fosters the character building which is crucial to the cultivation of all of its physicians.
It carries out research, hosts a wide range of seminars, undertakes course planning, medical leadership development and a number of other operatives that aim towards an enrichment beyond that sought from the training program in itself, in order to realize the acquisition of primary care.
Furthermore, public orientation days are held to showcase the Center in order for students of the medical faculty to have a deeper understanding of the training program.

Seminars
At least 6 seminars per year are held at related hospitals as "remote seminars" for the benefit of residents' study and the status of these seminars are distributed over a network.
Courses
Courses are conducted by external lecturers at least 31 times a year for the benefit of residents' study.
Shinshu University hospitals integral Postgraduate Training Workshop
An annual workshop is conducted based on the "Physician's Clinical Training Medical Leadership Short Course Guidelines" iMinistry of Health, Labor and Welfarej for the benefit of the host institution or related hospitals' medical leadership.
Public Orientation Day
The contents of the training program are showcased and the related hospitals and departments and divisions of the host institution are introduced on these days.
Held twice a year for the benefit of the medical faculty.

Residency Program
Clinical training program for primary care is conducted for junior residents at Shinshu University Hospital under excellent nature and human hospitality in Shinshu area as well as intimate relationship between Shinshu University and affiliated hospitals.
A. Exchange Program of Shinshu University Hospital and Affiliated Hospitals
(expected number to be accepted 38)
Junior residents are trained at our University Hospital for one year and at an affiliated hospital for another year.
Rotations include internal medicine for 6 months at the first year.
They rotate emergency for 1.5 months in each year, and 2 of selective obligate departments (surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, psychiatry and anesthesiology) for 1.5 months each and family health care for 1 month in the second year.
Residents will select the divisions for the remaining period according to their request.

B. Free Selective Program at Shinshu University Hospital

Junior residents belong to our University Hospital for 2 years and rotate at our various divisions and they can also be trained at affiliated hospitals for 3 months a year according to the request of each resident.
There are additional special courses are available for junior residents for pediatrics and obstetrics.
C. Special program for obstetrics and gynecology

These are special residency programs for future obstetrician and pediatrician.
Junior residents belong to our University Hospital for 2 years and rotate mainly internal medicine, obstetrics and gynecology or pediatrics.
They can also be trained at affiliated hospitals for 3 months a year according to the request of each resident.
Specialist Training Program from 3 years after Graduation
Senior residents are trained at each division of our University Hospital to obtain the qualification as specialist for each field of medical practice.
We also have the rotation programs for general internal medicine and surgery.
Career Plan for Young Doctors
We will support the career plan of each doctor during the training for specialist, clinical research and study abroad, and the road to leader of each special field of medical practice or the step of academic career. |
